October 13, 2011: Thursday - Istanbul: Welcome to Turkey. Arrive in Istanbul Airport, met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. After check into the hotel, meet at the lobby for welcome and information cocktail. Overnight in Istanbul. -
October 14, 2011: Friday - Istanbul (B): Our journey begins in Istanbul, the only city in the world situated on two continents. Byzantium, Constantinople, Istanbul - its three names span more than 2600 years, nearly 1600 of them as the capital of two of the greatest empires the world has known, Byzantine and Ottoman. We visit the Topkapi Palace including treasury section, The Blue Mosque and Hippodrome, where chariot races and the Byzantine riots took place and free time in Grand bazaar with its 3.500 shops. Overnight in Istanbul.
October 15, 2011: Saturday Gallipoli - Canakkale (B, D): Following breakfast we will leave for Gallipoli Peninsula. Visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Cemetery, the original tunnels and trenches at Johnston Jolly (Turkish and Allied), The Nek Cemetery, Chunuk-Bair New Zealand Memorial and Cemetery and Kabatepe War Museum. After Gallipoli cross the Dardanalles and Overnight in Canakkale.
October 16, 2011: Sunday Troy - Pergamum - Kusadai (B): After breakfast drive to“Homer's Troy”, and the site of King Priam's Treasures. Probably the most famous city of classical times - who doesn't know the story of the Trojan Horse. After Troy, We enjoy a scenic drive through Thrace to visit the hauntingly beautiful the ancient city of Pergamon. We see the Altar of Zeus, Temple of Dionysus and the 200,000-volume library, The Asclepieum of Pergamon. Leaving Pergamon behind us we settle at our hotel in Kusadasi.
October 17, 2011: Monday Ephesus (B):
We drive to the ancient city of Ephesus and first visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Ephesus was undoubtedly one of the most important cultural centers of the ancient world. Impressive structures we will see include the Library of Celsus, Temple of Hadrian, Theatre and Odeon. We also visit the House of the Virgin Mary We stay overnight in Kusadasi.
October 18, 2011: Tuesday Cruise: You will be transferred to the port in Kusadasi to start your 4-Day Golden Classic Cruise onboard the M/V Aquamarine ofLouis Cruises.
October 21, 2011: Friday Athens (B):
Upon disembarkation the ship, morning departure from Athens to for the Full-Day Tour of Delphi (Optional $129 pp). Drive through the towns of Thebes, Levadia and Arachova, famous for its brightly colored carpets. Arrive in Delphi, the ancient sanctuary of Apollon. Visit the museum, where among other archaeological treasures, one can see the famed bronze statue of the "Charioteer". Walk the sacred way to the Athenian Treasury; visit Apollon's Temple and the Kastalian Fountain. Return to Athens in the evening and stay at the 5* Deluxe Athens Acropol Hotel with breakfast daily for 3 nights.
October 22, 2011: Saturday Athens (B): After breakfast, you will be picked up at 8:30 a.m., to take the 1/2 day Athens City Tour, From the Acropolis to Omonia Square, you'll see all the famous sites of ancient and modern Athens on this comprehensive morning tour. Offering a perfect overview of the modern city, this guided tour will help you get your bearings if this is your first visit to Athens.
IN THE EVENING: (Optional $95 pp) Pick-up at 8:30 pm to take the Athens By Night Tour Fuel your appetite with a night-time tour of Athens and its port, then relax with a Greek dinner show at a typical taverna in the renowned Plaka district.
