Discover Morocco (11 Days)

Day 1: Casablanca
When you arrive in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, you will be met by your personal driver and transferred to your Casablanca hotel, where you will check in and relax. Depending on your arrival time, you will have a visit to the Hassan II, one of the world’s biggest mosques. Dinner will be served in the hotel.

Day 2: Fes 

After breakfast today, you will leave with your driver towards Fes. On your way, you will stop at Rabat, the capital city and residence of the King. You will enjoy a visit to this Imperial city, the La Tour Hassan Tower, Chellah and more. After having lunch and a time to enjoy the beautiful coastal city, you will continue on to Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco. Dinner will be served at the riad.

Day 3: Fes 

Today, after breakfast you will start your guided tour of the medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will be able to explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. You will have the chance to visit the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters. For lunch you will eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch you will complete the tour. Dinner will be in a local restaurant this evening.

Day 4: Volubilis, Meknes, Fes 

After an early breakfast, you will set out in the morning to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will be able to spend the morning exploring the 2000-year-old ruins and getting a picture of life during the Roman Empire. You will have lunch in Moulay Idris, one of the holiest cities in Morocco. After lunch, your guide will take you on a tour of the imperial city, Meknes. You will return to Fes in the evening for dinner at the riad.

Day 5: Fes, Erfoud 

After another early breakfast, you will begin your climb across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to descend towards the Sahara Desert. Half way, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. When you arrive at the Kasbah in Erfoud, a hot shower or dip in the swimming pool (depending on the weather) will be a treat after the drive. Dinner will be served in the Kasbah.

Day 6: Sahara Desert 
Today is the day to explore the small desert towns of Erfoud and Rissani after breakfast. In the afternoon, you will head off in some 4-wheel drive vehicles across the barren land to the majestic Sahara sand dunes. You will set off by camel for a 1/2-hour trek out onto the dunes to watch the sunset. You will then spend the night in deluxe Berber tents. Returning to the hotel to sleep is an option if you would prefer hotel to tent. Dinner will be served in the camp.

Day 7: Todra Gorges, Dades Gorges, Ouarzazate 

Today you will return to the 4x4s and head back to Erfoud. From Erfoud, you will set out behind the High Atlas Mountains on route to Ouarzazate! On your way, you might enjoy a walk in the towering Todra Gorges (600 feet high). The picturesque Dades Valley makes for a beautiful journey towards the southeast of Morocco. From here, you will set off towards Ouarzazate along the Route of 1,000 Kasbahs! If you wish, you can visit the ancient Kasbahs in the palmaries. When you arrive in Ouarzazate, you can visit this southern town, probably most famous now for the films that have been produced in the area. Dinner will be served in the hotel.

Day 8: Ouarzazate, Marrakech 
After breakfast, you will set off to Marrakech via Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. Placed in the High Atlas Mountains, it is one of the jewels of Morocco. In typical Moroccan fashion, the true treasures must be searched out and discover usually off the beaten path. Actually, this setting has been used for more films than any other location in Morocco; films such as, Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and recently The Gladiator. You will head over the mountains to Marrakech after lunch. Once in Marrakech, you will check into your hotel and then head off to the Jemaa el-Fna, the center square of the medina. The famous Jemaa el-Fna, is one of the center attractions of Marrakech. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbeque pits, the square is well worth a visit. Having a quiet cup of tea on the terrace of an adjacent café providing a spectacular aerial view of the lively square will be a great way to end today's tour. Dinner will be served at the Riad.

Day 9: Marrakech 

Today is the day to have a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el-Fna, one of the center attractions of Marrakech. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the souk (market). You will be able to have dinner at a local restaurant or near the big square.

Day 10: Casablanca 

Today you will get the chance to enjoy a free morning in Marrakech to relax and explore. You may like to try a cooking class (USD$80 per person, must be arranged in advance) or visiting the lovely Marjorelle Gardens. After lunch and at your convenience, you will drive to Casablanca and check into your hotel. Dinner will be served at Casablanca’s famous restaurant, Rick’s Café. Have fun in your last evening in Morocco!

Day 11: Casablanca

Your tour ends today and you will be taken to the airport for departure.

Offering panoramic views of the sand dunes, this resort is set in the heart of the Erg Chebbi Desert. You can sit around the campfire and listen to traditional music or drink Moroccan tea on the terrace. The authentic camel-skin tents at Auberge La Belle Etoile are all decorated in a Berber style. The Berbere features 3 restaurants that serve French, Italian and traditional Moroccan cuisine. Breakfast is served on the terrace and guests can enjoy a cocktail at the piano bar.


In central Casablanca, the Hotel Le Doge offers hammam, sauna and hot tub. There are also a number of massage and well-being treatments available for an additional fee.This Relais & Chateaux Hotel serves a full breakfast every morning in the Art-Deco dining room. Guests can relax with a drink in the hotel’s bar-lounge. The Casablanca medina (historic quarter) and 5 minutes from the Squala fortifications and the port.


Kasbah Xaluca is 4 star hotel located at the entrance of the Sahara Desert. It offers 2 swimming pools and a spa with a hammam and 10 massage rooms, a 45-minute drive from Errachidia Airport. An American-style buffet breakfast is served every morning on the terrace or in the dining room. There is also a bar and 2 restaurants, where you can enjoy the international or Moroccan buffet.


Le Royal Mansour Méridien is located in Casablanca and offers stunning views of the harbor and the Hassan II Mosque. The Royal Grill restaurant serves inventive dishes using high quality produce. Moroccan cuisine and live music is offered at La Douira, which displays the rich culture of Morocco. Guests can enjoy an exceptional selection of international and local beverages at Le Diplomate Bar. An on-site beauty salon and boutique sells a wide range of Moroccan products.


This Riad is a 25 minute drive from Fes International Airport in the heart of Fes medina (historic quarter). It offers rooms and suites with oriental furnishings and a panoramic pool-side terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains. The Fes Riad’s restaurant serves authentic Moroccan cuisine. Meals can be served in the hotel’s dining room or on the roof-top terrace. Guests can relax in the outdoor swimming pool or hammam.


A traditional Moroccan riad, Riad Jaouhara is just 200 metres from the Blue Gate in Fès. It features a swimming pool and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city. A traditional-Moroccan décor and a separate seating area feature in the suites at Riad Jaouhara. A continental breakfast is served every morning and Moroccan cuisine is offered in the traditional restaurant. Guests can also relax on the rooftop terrace with a drink from the bar and admire the views.


This 18th-century traditional, Moroccan building is located in Marrakech. Guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, the sauna and the steam bath, just a 25 minute walk from Jamaâ El Fna Square. At Riad Kniza, breakfast is included and served either on the terrace or in one of the communal lounges, by the fireplace. Dinners with traditional dishes from the region are also available with advance reservation.


Only 1 km from Jamaâ El Fna Square and featuring a rooftop terrace with views over Marrakesh, Riad Moucharabieh offers an interior courtyard with a hot tub and a swimming pool. Accommodation is located in 2 separate wings and decorated in a traditional Moroccan-style. Regional cuisine is served at breakfast, lunch and dinner in the elegant restaurant. Guests can also relax in the several seating areas or in one of the two onsite bars and browse the free Wi-Fi.
